ABOUT ACE

ACE’s primary goal is offering students at CTEC the opportunity to explore careers in the construction industry. ACE has been partnering with the Salem-Keizer School District for 10 years providing a capstone project for students in the residential construction program at CTEC. This public- private partnership allows ACE to provide funding of a new construction home each school year and CTEC provides the instructors and students to perform and observe the process of building a home from concept to completion. In addition to providing this capstone opportunity, we provide scholarships to students going into the construction industry directly out of CTEC.

Rhonda  Rhodes
CTEC Principal

"CTEC Residential Construction Program provides high school students with authentic, hands-on experience in residential construction and related trades. Students operate as employees in a dynamic work environment as they acquire powerful professional skills like communication, collaboration, productivity, and workplace safety. Through CTEC’s unique relationship with ACE, these young professionals apply their technical skills to literally design and build a home from the ground up each year. Building a home to sell at market value to a family in our community inspires them perform at a high level and exhibit initiative and ownership in their work. Upon completion of the CTEC Residential Construction Program, graduates are prepared to contribute to our local economy in high-skill, high-wage industry positions."
